The Dr.Rockzo duo is an acoustic/electric pop and rock outfit based near Coolangatta. They have been performing full time since their arrival at Brisbane in 2007. They consist of Simon Meola (27) vocals/rhythm guitar/percussion, and Davitt Barry (21) vocals/lead guitar/percussion.

Habebe is one of a select few Brisbane DJs who garners as much respect from the underground clubbing fraternity as he does from the dance music mainstream, due in part to his upfront track selection and his unwavering dedication to the big room progressive sound he’s favored since his early inroads into the scene in 2002. 2004 saw him take 12 months off from his Brisbane commitments to take up exclusive residencies at Gold Coast clubs Quest, Ambassee and Kink club nights, but that all changed when he won the local heat of the Heineken Thirst DJ competition in 2005, going on to compete in the national finals in Sydney.

Spawning from the mind of Soren Osterman (DJ Rasp) and what is now comprising a bunch of instrumentalists, Vinyl Slingers isnt your conventional dance outfit. Emerging from the breaks scene five years ago, the musical range of the band now ventures beyond labels and genres. To wit, the Vinyl Slingers sound is founded in bass-heavy funk, but given its members an African Drum drummer, a regular drummer with a full drum kit, an MC, a scratch DJ and a didgeridoo player its easy to see how the group might stray from a singular sound. Then there are the special guest performers who regularly join the crew for festival rabble-rousing. These guests have so far included flautists, bass players, DJs, trumpeters and MCs the more the merrier!

It is safe to say that TV ROCK is the hottest dance outfit in Australia right now. With a wealth of experience rocking the dance floors across the globe, TV ROCK is the collaboration between two of Australia’s highest profile DJ/Producers in Grant Smillie and Ivan Gough.

Grant is the resident at super club Onelove and has mixed the last 3 Onelove CD’s alongside Carl Kennedy, Kaz James (Bodyrockers) and The Freemasons. Grant is also one of Nova’s national dance programmers and hosts a show alongside John Course every Saturday night called ‘Overdrive’.

Whether you’re talking about Dj’ing or producing, Ivan Gough is not only one of Australia’s most accomplished dance music exports, he’s also one of its very first! Not only have Ivan’s records graced the airwaves of Kiss90 London and the crates of Sasha and Oakenfold, but he also has more releases (and remixes) to his name than any other Australian.

TV ROCK’s production skills first hit the airwaves in late 2004 and scored multiple number 1 positions on the coveted ARIA Club Chart with their trademark big room electro remixes of Paris Avenue, Sander Kleinenberg and The Soulchip as well as 4 other top 10 positions. TV ROCK was also commissioned for mixes in the UK and Italy, and received airplay on Radio 1’s Essential Selection.

In July of 2005 Grant and Ivan formed Bimbo Rock records as a vehicle to promote TV ROCK and its production and in November 2005 released their first original track ‘Flaunt It’ featuring the low slung vocals of Seany B. With a cult following at club level, ‘Flaunt It’ flew straight to the top of the ARIA singles chart and spent 5 weeks at #1.

One of the most talked about releases of 2005, “flaunt it’ attracted international heat, with Sander Kleinenberg signing the track for Europe and making it a priority for Miami 2005. Sander, Sharam Jey, Tom Novy and Pete Tong are just a few to be singing praise for the TV ROCK dynamic duo.

It all started when THE POTBELLEEZ convinced Groove Armada to pay for their recording studio set up 2 years ago. THE POTBELLEEZ promoted a small and discreet after show party for Groove Armada and close friends and then sold 689 tickets at $20 each. For the record Groove Armada were paid with some Australian Dollars and local beer and rocked it.

THE POTBELLEEZ have toured the world, reeking havoc from Moscow to Shanghai on 6 decks, 2 mixers and 2 efx units. Except in Romania where THE POTBELLEEZ broke bones and limped through their Eastern Europe tour. PTY LTD started with style and have not eased up since. After years of reporting experience and dedication, Georgina Lewis was the obvious choice to present Brisbane's Ten News at Five with Bill McDonald.

A graduate of the University of New England, Georgie also spent a year of her studies abroad at the University of Nebraska - one of the leading Journalism schools in the United States.

After humble beginnings as a news reporter in Queensland's remote north west at Mt Isa, Georgie progressed quickly to covering a myriad of stories in North Queensland, specialising in police and court rounds.
At 23 she co-anchored Ten's regional five o’clock news bulletin as well as presenting and writing several documentaries. It was only a matter of time before the big city beckoned. Georgie answered the call, taking up a position in the Ten Newsroom where she built on her already strong reporting skills on the medical round.
For over four years Georgie presented weather for Brisbane's Ten News at Five team before moving to news presenter permanently.

Since 2004, Georgie has also anchored both the weekend national news bulletin, Ten's 6am and 11am news from Sydney.

In late 2007 Georgie moved from weather to news presenter permanently for Brisbane's Ten News at Five.

Richard Champion or “Champs” as most Queenslanders know him now, has played AFL Football since he can remember. During a career that spanned Fourteen years in total with Woodville (S.A) and the Brisbane Bears/Lions, he experienced many highs and lows before his retirement at the end of the 2000 season.

Champs is a multi-talented personality who was always prominent in the clubs off-field activities and in 1998 won a $30,000 AFL Talent Show on Channel Seven for his marvelous impersonation of Jimmy Barnes. He also enjoyed showing off his vocal talents, or lack of them, on the hit series “It Takes Two”. He now performs in a different way on Seven, as a presenter on the very popular Great South East, and Creek to Coast programs along with his expert views on Seven News. He also co-hosts the Sportsbet Breakfast Show each morning on Radio TAB and heads up Triple M’s “Dead Set Legends” and the “Triple M Call Team” commentating on all the Brisbane Lions games during the season.

He was awarded Brisbane Lions Life Membership on retirement for his 10 years of loyal service to the club and was a member of the Lions “Team of the Decade”.

Champs loves golf, loves life and intends to call Brisbane home for many years to come with his wife Anne-Marie and daughters Georgia and Grace.

Bill McDonald is one of Network Ten's most popular and experienced presenters, and respected journalist and commentator. For more than 22 years Bill has been bringing the latest in News and Sport into Queensland and Australian homes.

Co-anchor of Ten's successful daily News at Five, Bill can also been seen as a boundary commentator on Ten's national AFL coverage, heard delivering daily AFL updates around the country on Macquarie Radio or catch his tips and video features on brisbanetimes.com.au.

Bill honed his skills at the Seven Network, working on some of Australia's biggest sporting events for a decade from 1987, before taking over the top sport job from David Fordham at Ten in 1996. Bill was promoted to the News desk in 2003.

Bill's a former Queensland AFL correspondent for the Melbourne Age Newspaper and has written columns and features for various publications. Bill is also a professional voice over artist as featured in the award winning children's animation series 'Farmkids'. Possessing a quick, dry wit, Bill is also an entertaining and accomplished Master of Ceremonies, having presided over numerous events from Black Tie to BBQ's.

Bill is also a hands on director of boutique media training business MAS Media. A married father of three boys, he loves keeping fit, the outdoors, home renovation and hanging out with the family.

After a whirl wind year in 2005 which saw Liz beat 12 other contestants to win Channel 7’s reality show “The Mole”, the self confessed water baby has joined the Creek to Coast team.

At 16 Liz moved with her family from west of Brisbane to Sunshine Beach, Noosa. This saw her say goodbye to her obsession for horse riding and focus on her surfing. Both her father and brother are surfers and Liz was christened to the ocean before she could walk. She gained a sponsorship from Billabong and was a competitive surfer on the Australian Junior Series for five years.

During this time Liz also found a part time job as a surf judge, and became the first female judge on a World Circuit Tour level. Through her surfing Liz traveled to Fiji, Tahiti, The Maldives, Hawaii and Europe.

Liz still tries to surf everyday, but after competing a Bachelor of Communications at Griffith University her gift of the gab, love for writing and strong interest in Media and Journalism saw her follow a different path.

These days when Liz isn’t working for Creek to Coast, or away commentating for Roxy at their WCT surfing events, she loves to escape for a weekend of camping and surfing.

Liz lives for adventure and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty.

From State-of-Origin dressing rooms at Lang Park to the famous baths of Twickenham with the Wallabies, the Seven Network's award-winning sports reporter, commentator and presenter Ben Davis, has travelled the globe covering sporting events for 7news and other network programs. He now presents the weekend sports bulletin for 7news in Brisbane and is a reporter during the week.

n 1997 and again in 1999, Ben won Best Television Report in the National Soccer League's national Media Awards for his reports on the Brisbane Strikers.

For two years he was also a regular on Seven's former locally produced sports show, Sportscene, providing sports updates and later featuring in rugby league segments along side Queensland league legend Trevor Gillmeister.

 

Having been advised as a child to begin swimming to combat asthma, the Brisbane schoolgirl broke into the Australian team for the 1991 World Championships in Perth, winning a silver medal in the medley relay. The following year, Riley won a bronze medal in the 100m breaststroke at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, as well as competing in the 200m event.

In 1994, Riley won both breaststroke events at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Canada, and repeated the feat at the World Championships in Rome, Italy, setting a world record of 1min 07.69s in the 100m event. This prompted Swimming World magazine to name her as the Female World Swimmer of the Year.

Reporting on Creek to Coast given Taryn Onofaro the opportunity to embrace her zest for life and discover more of Queensland, which became her home in January 2001 when she relocated from Perth.

From the moment she could walk, Taryn was dancing. Trained in classical, jazz, tap, neo-classical and acrobatics, Taryn looked set to follow in the footsteps of her dancing mother, grandmother and aunt.

In her late teens, Taryn decided to pursue her interest in media, enrolling in a broadcasting course at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

During this time Taryn started working as a radio announcer at 6EBAFM, co-presenting and producing breakfast radio. She also appeared in television commercials, did voice-over work, and was one of the faces on community television station Access 31 in Perth, before she moved to Brisbane for commercial television opportunities.

Taryn loved the outdoors. She’s travelled around America, parts of Asia and Europe. Since starting work on Creek to Coast, Taryn has more than proven her abilities and fearlessness covering stories on everything from offshore angling and diving to four wheel driving.
